Webinar: Author Kathleen Perrin on Palliative Care

There are some nurses who firmly believe that all patients’ care should have an element of palliative care, a focus on the patients’ and families’ comfort, concerns, and needs. Clearly as end-of-life approaches, palliative care gains in importance over curative care. This webinar hosted by author Kathy Perrin will discuss what palliative care involves and will describe triggers for a palliative care consult in critically ill patients. Evidence-based ways to initiate and continue the discussion of limitation of care, including Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR), will be highlighted. Finally, best practices for care of the dying patient in the critical care environment will be reviewed.

Please join us on Tuesday, July 24 at 1:00 PM EDT to discuss this topic.
